A NUMBER of Greek islands were added to the travel corridor list this week by the UK government, allowing more holidays to continue.

While Crete and Mykonos remain off the cards unless you’re willing to quarantine back in the UK, you can head to more islands in Greece from today.

Santorini and Zante were added to the travel corridor list, meaning quarantine is no longer required from 4am this morning.

They join Corfu, Kos and Rhodes which have all stayed off the list due to their low cases of coronavirus.

It is great news for Brits wanting a bit of last-minute sun, with the islands staying above 20C during October.

Tour operators including Jet2 and TUI have some bargains if you can travel in the next few weeks.

Jet2 is even adding more November services to Rhodes from five of its UK bases – Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and London Stansted – due to demand.

Santorini holidays are yet to return until 2021, but tour operators are likely to resume flights in upcoming days depending on demand.

Caution is advised if booking far in advance, however – travel restrictions can change at short notice, with them often announced on Thursdays and enforced by the following Saturdays.

Currently, Brits can enter Greece without having to quarantine at either end.

However, you must fill in a Passenger Locator Form before entering the country, and show the QR code on arrival, or face fines and being refused entry.

Greece is one of the few destinations left where Brits don’t have any additional or costly entry requirements.

Cyprus, along with Italy and the Portuguese islands Madeira and Azores now require a negative coronavirus test 72 hours before arrival.

These cannot be done on the NHS and can cost as much as £200 privately – here is how to get one.

There are less than 10 countries Brits can now visit without having to quarantine, and even less with no travel restrictions.
